The Trompia Valley, of which Gardone is the historic and administrative centre, is the smallest of the three valleys that make up the mountain territory of the province of Brescia.

Precisely in Brescia, in fact, the last offshoots of the two parallel rows of mountains that form the valley slowly slope down until they fade into the hills that are lost in the upper Brescia plain.
